Arrival Information

Spring Alive!, New Student Orientation is right around the corner and we look forward to meeting you! Listed below are a few reminders as you prepare for your trip to Pullman.


  • To see if you have a balance due, pay all or part of your balance with a VISA or MasterCard, or check your guest count, please log back in to the orientation reservation system.

Program Overview:

Wednesday, January 2:

Thursday, January 3:

  • Required programming from 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m.

Friday, January 4:

  • Required programming 7 a.m.-5 p.m. (Parents will end by 3 p.m.)

Residence Hall Move-In:

We do not provide housing accommodations for Spring Alive!. Students who have completed a housing reservation may start moving in to your assigned residence hall as early as 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2. Please check for more information regarding the move-in process and various living options.


The Parent/Guest orientation program will end by 3 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019. We do not provide housing accommodations for parents/guests during Spring Alive!.

Placement Exams

All new WSU students are required to take the Writing and Math placement exams, unless you have received English or Math transfer credit from an Advanced Placement (AP) test or a college-level course. Students in the Honors College do not need to take the writing placement exam. For more information, visit:

Print Spring Alive! Parking Permit:

Parking permits are available for you to print prior to your arrival on campus for Spring Alive!. To obtain your permit, please visit and follow these steps:

  • Under WSU Active Directory, enter your Network ID (username) and password
  • Under Permits, click "Order An Event Permit" and agree to Terms of Service
  • Select the Spring Alive! Orientation permit, click "Next" and follow the prompts to input license plate information and print your permit.

  2. Measles immunization documentation (if you have not already sent it in)

Please note: Students must attend the entire Spring Alive! orientation program in order to register for classes at the conclusion.
