Coming to Pullman

Program check in will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue until 4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Compton Union Building (CUB) Jr. Ballroom. If you plan on taking the Writing Placement Exam you need to be at the Smith Center for Undergraduate Education (CUE) by 5:40 pm. You do need to check-in to the program ahead of time to take the Writing Placement exam.  If you are planning to re-take the ALEKS Math Placement Exam, you must start the assessment in Thompson Hall Room 1 before 3:00 p.m.  Formal required programming will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018.

 

Parking on Campus: All students bringing a car to Pullman who wish to park on campus during the spring semester should purchase their parking permit before they arrive.  Visit https://parking.wsu.edu/login.php  for information. If you do not intend to purchase a parking permit during the spring semester but would like to park on campus during Spring Alive! Orientation, parking permits will be available for you to print a few weeks before the program.  Please refer to your Pre-Arrival Email for detailed printing instructions.

Alive! Check-In Parking Map: The map below designates the most convenient parking lots to use upon arrival on campus for program check-in.

Plane: You can fly directly into the Pullman-Moscow Airport (four miles from campus). For flight information into Pullman visit the Horizon Airlines Web site. If you fly into Spokane (80 miles from campus), call Wheatland Express, 800-334-2207, or visit their Web site for transportation from the airport to campus.

Bus: Major bus routes, including Greyhound, pass through Pullman. The bus stop is located downtown, approximately two miles from campus.

Driving: Driving time from Seattle is approximately five hours; from Spokane, one-and-one-half hours; and from Portland, six hours. Print detailed directions.

 

Overnight Accommodations

Students:  You should plan on moving into your residence hall or place of residence in Pullman. Residence Halls open on Wednesday, January 3 at 10:00 a.m.  You may go directly to your residence hall to check-in and short-term parking will be available.  More information on moving into your residence hall can be found at http://www.housing.wsu.edu/.

If you are living off-campus, you may want to check out the Brelsford WSU Visitors Center located at 150 NE Spring Street where you can obtain campus maps and parking permits.  You can reach them at 509-335-4636 or visit their website at http://visitor.wsu.edu.

Parents & Guests:  Housing is not provided as a part of Spring Alive!. You are permitted to stay with your student in their residence hall provided the roommate(s) agree.
